POLYURETHANE SPRAY FOAM 

Polyurethane spray foam is the best insulation product on the market for your home, shed, commercial building or wine cellars!  What is polyurethane spray foam, you ask?  It is a unique insulation and sealing product.  It is applied on-site so it conforms to the surface where it is applied.  The application process creates a tight building envelope which improves energy efficiency. Polyurethane spray foam insulation is air tight allowing no air exchange. 


Spray foam insulation and insulating foam sealants are made by mixing and reacting unique liquid components.  The liquids react very quickly when mixed and applied on site, expanding on contact to create foam that insulates, seals gaps, and can form air, moisture, and vapor barriers.  Polyurethane spray foam is versatile and can seal wall cavities, exterior walls, crawlspaces, attics and small gaps and cracks throughout a house or building.  Spray foam products can limit infiltration and air movement throughout the home, which helps reduce energy usage, limits intrusion of pollutants and allergens and makes the home more comfortable.  Polyurethane spray foam is also known to have a high R-value. 


There are two types of spray foam, open cell and closed cell.  Let's talk about the different types of insulation below.  


OPEN CELL SPRAY FOAM

Open cell polyurethane spray foam is full of cells that are not completely encapsulated.  The cells are deliberately left open which then makes the foam softer and a more flexible material. Open cell spray foam typically costs cheaper than closed cell. 


CLOSED CELL SPRAY FOAM

Closed cell polyurethane spray foam is made of cells that are completely closed and because of this it adds strength to the structure.  Out of the two types of spray foam (open & closed) closed cell typically costs more due to the extra benefits it provides. 


BATT INSULATION

Batt Insulation is made of fiberglass and comes manufactured in rolls.  It is most commonly used in walls, attics, floors and ceilings. 


BLOWN INSULATION

Blown Insulation is typically installed in new homes and existing homes being remodeled/upgraded.  Blown insulation is a quality insulation product that gets blown into your attic through a hose by the installer.  Blown insulation is the most cost efficient when it comes to insulation services. Most clients choose blown insulation due to the price benefit.
